A has thick, long hair that she’s been growing to donate to Little Princess Trust. Check it out – you grow your hair to at least 12 inches, cut it off, send it to them and they use it to make wigs for Children who have cancer.  If you email them / call them, they send you a fundraiser pack as it costs them £400 to make a wig out of donated hair. They also email out recent stories of kids / teens who’ve donated hair so there’s a chance your good deed will get noticed by more than just your school and friends.

Anyways, back to A whose hair becomes unruly.  When she gets up in the morning and she hasn’t combed it, it’s a mess and we’ve taken to calling her Hagrid.  She hates it; we do it more.  Products that have been very helpful to get out the frizz (post brush):

This was recommended by our hair dresser, post a trim for A.

They both work the same way – you squeeze a 10p size into your hands, rub them together to spread the product and then run your hands over your hair.   She starts from the middle of her head down so she doesn’t grease up her roots.  Her hair looks shiny and un-Hagrid like.  For both products, a little goes a long way so while it is expensive, it lasts a long time.   A applies it to her hair when it’s dry but you can also do it while damp.   It also helps protect her hair when she blows dry it.

Another essential is a head wrap – J and A started using mum’s but pretty quickly wanted their own.

We saw this one at Oliver Bonas over the weekend - currently on sale.

This one is absolutely ridiculous; we’re gonna get these and wear it around the house looking like some old ladies.  We have no idea how well it dries your hair but for £3.37, it may just be worth the laugh. 'Slay.'

This is the one we use at home; it’s expensive but easy to put on.  You put it over your hair, make sure all your fits into it.  You then wrap the bottom bit around and over to the front of your head and fasten with the button.  It really helps to dry your hair and makes it less of a pain to blow-dry (or air dry.)

As detangling / brushing was mentioned above, here is the most basic of all the basics and we assume everyone has one but in case not: Tangle Teezer | Official Tangle Teezer Online Store

Hope this was helpful to anyone dealing with Hagrid-like issues. Let us know what you use :)
