Well, well, well, it was just mental health week in the UK and along with that, the constant conversation between parents, school and children about the fact that brains aren't fully developed into an adult brain until you’re 25 years old (apparently it's even later than that but that's not helping the cause of any teen trying to get their hands on a smart phone.)
So, enter reminders that social media is bad.
In fact, even our parliament is going to debate whether under 16s should have access to a mobile phone.
Read this bbc article: Smartphone ban for kids is worth considering - MPs - BBC News here’s an excerpt:
‘It recommended the next government should work with the regulator, Ofcom, to consult on additional measures, including the possibility of a total ban on smartphones for under-16s or having parental controls installed as a default.’ The article also has the viewpoint of some teens and parents.
So, if your family is in a battle for a non internet enabled phone, the nokia brick (Nokia 3310) is making a come back at schools. Nokia are doing a whole campaign about taking time out, which appeals to the parents. J&A have to say that snake and Tetris can occupy their brain a lot with a recent high score at of a cool 54,000 points. If that means any to you, feel free to comment and let us know what your highest score is. Back to the Nokia, another one of the few features is the camera - why have crisp photos when you can have grainy ones (which Nokia are calling retro photography)? Given the skin in our house is going crazy this week, grainy…sorry, retro photos may not be a bad thing.
Here's the link to these Nokia beauties:
